Post Star Pitches Softballs

iraq_war.jpg

A Feb. 19th interview published in Glens Falls Post Star gives Kristen Gillibrand a free pass with regard to the 'war'. Completely evading the subject as only a lawyer would, the Post Star editorial board also let's the candidate slide ;

Red Herring or Trojan Horse ?

Front runners Sweeney & Gillibrand took immediate media stances about the pending port deal with the UAE company prepared to take over the British company currently managing the ports. While the US retains sovereignty and the Coast guard security, the question is why would a company risk its lucrative contract by not maintaining strict personell security ? Nobody seems too concerned about the fact that Cuba would like the US out of Gitmo . . . Is this a case of simple xenophobia or a deeper prejudice ? You tell us . . .

The Campaign

New York's 20th District is geographically large. (Click here for basic map and here for a .pdf version) As far south as Dutchess, west as Delaware and north as Essex counties. Our location in Columbia County is as central as possible. The hope is that we can canvas it at special events, county fairs and other impromptu affairs.

Sweeney not well ?

We are currently denying accusations that the introduction of this site caused the good Congressman to take ill with a migraine. Rather than jump on the port bandwagon, we suggest that Representatives and Executives read what their staff puts together in those late night sessions. Of course the result in Assemblyman Manning's case is now well known. Good thing I'll just be in the dining room for the '06 campaign. Please leave comments as we build and make this site.

While making claim to being America's third largest party, few people think outside the two party boxes. While finding nominal success in doubling a registration of six, little interest in party politics seems to be the norm. In the last month I've found that people perk up when I tell them I'm running for Congress. Issues like the 'war', healthcare and the many other things start flowing rather freely.

Winter of my Discontent

valley-forge.gif
After watching the announcement of John Sweeney's pre-ordained Democratic opponent, Kristen Gillibrand, it struck me that my generation (Gen-X ?) also might be represented by more of the same. As a small business person over the last 12 years, it's disheartening to see no economic vision, principled policy positions or even the hint that Liberty is preferred to Patriot Acts and Homeland Security. Instead, special interests and money reign. Despite the harsh reality of the Abramoff scandal, Sweeney and Gillibrand are engaged in a battle between moneyed interests. The only other candidate, Morris Guller hasn't seemed to gain the MSM or blogosphere's vague imagination.
