Free Talk Live !

Ever get stuck in your car having only the choice of Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly for talk radio? Their broad generalizations about liberals or conservatives seem to reflect the dysfunction that two main parties need. I have friends in the Working Families Party despite my view on minimum wage. Most likely its my view on abortion or gay marriage that is our common bond. These ideological separations are the stuff that apologists of two parties rely on. They need division for ratings. Their small coterie of listeners are devout and outspoken. The rest of us kind of just live our lives.

Libertarians have a tough time in the media. They are frequently ridiculed and frankly just misunderstood. The crew at Free Talk Live ! get it. They are a young and smart independent radio show that is one of the most popular pod casts in the world. I personally can't stomach Michael Savage or Al Franken. Ian Bernard and his cohorts challenge everyday perceptions through the prism of Liberty. There are no sacred cows in their lexicon and approach. Neither are they mean spirited or personally prejudice in any regard with the exception of how they feel government intrudes on our lives.
Apparently there is a rift between FTL and the national LP revolving around an email list and the show. I hope they work this out. We need greater understanding of Liberty. We put our Hardfire TV show on Google Video to this end.
This week I called in at the end of the Thursday night show and had a chance to promote the campaign and talk about children and discipline. I cited the fact that discipline is a series of good behaviors and habits, not just punishment. Too often we immediately seek to punish children rather then carefully show their relation to the world about them.
