Debate Daze

Getting used to questions and cameras has been one of the biggest campaign challenges.
This week allowed for this twice. After some thought, however, if I could go back and have a 'do-over', this is what
I'd prefer to convey. Usually this is done by some wily staff member to spin the mistakes of their leader.

How would you end the war in Iraq ?

I would call it an occupation rather than a 'war'. The Democrats and Republicans are responsible for this mess.
Calling for a withdrawal is all well and fine, but the most recent debate in the House (HR861) is described by Downsize DC: 'The resolution to be debated is worded so that anyone opposing it will appear to be hostile to god, country, our brave troops, babies, the flag, apple pie, motherhood, cute little puppy dogs, and everything else that is good and right.'

An independent CongressCritter might be able to persuade his erstwhile colleagues that this fluff does the people no good.

Property Tax:

Property Tax reminds us that we do not in fact own our property. We are paying rent to our sovereign in this case our statist neighbors who feel they are entitled to our time & income. Allowing property owners to buy an 'allodial title' might be the solution. Tax payers would be afforded the opportunity to pay the next twenty years in property tax, at which point they would attain 'allodial title', effectively taking the 'king' or sovereign out of your life. Your property becomes your own, no one elses. the proceeds of the transaction could be invested by the municipality into an escrow account. Thus funding for the 'system' could continue as we wean ourselves off government dependence when it come to educating our children. This is ahrd to convey in a sound byte.

HealthCare:

The Registar Star was essentially correct in my assessemnt about the HMO act of 1973. He didn't follow my logic which would essentially dismantle the act and allow market mechanisms and contracts take over, in terms of healthcare. That is a problem for reporters accustom to outlining the latest 'plan' from a politician.
