I was heartened when I saw Phil make it on the ballot in CT. He's a hard working savy Libertarian who deserves to be heard. One of my primary goals was to just make it to the debates in order to expose the hyprocrisy in the GOP and Dem positions.

Here's part of Phil's note:

I am running for Congress in CT's 4th district against Shays/Farrell.
There will be 12 debates in October. We are likely to be on most of
them because we meet the criteria for running an active campaign.
We've now been in more than 30 newspaper articles, including six front
page ones, and had half a dozen radio and TV appearances. We have town
volunteer coordinators in each of the 17 towns in the district. We're
on the ballot and registered with the FEC. We have a headquarters, a
staff, and an active website. We've run ads.

The one excuse organizers can still try to use to exclude us from
debates is the alleged lack of broad-based monetary support. Many of
the debate organizers require us to show a "significant" number of
contributors. The amount of the contribution does not matter. My
opponents Shays/Farrell each have more than 1,500 individual
contributors.

We are likely to be invited to most if not all of the debates with
Shays/Farrell. There are a variety of criteria, and we basically meet
all of them with flying colors. But one of them requires showing a
"significant" number of contributors, where the amount contributed
does not matter, to show broad-based support. Since we only recently
started fundraising, our live number of contributors doesn't reflect
the true broad support we actually have, and I would like to make as
strong a case as possible to the debate organizations.

This isn't a desperate plea for cash, simply asistance to get the LP message out.
