The Great Non-Debate

As the impasse to debate in NY's 20th District continues, it appears more likely that the candidates will not square off. debate1.jpg A shame really. The voters are denied a fundamental aspect of the democratic process. We organized a debate in early June that was avoided by both the heavies in this race. Citizen Action sponsered a healthcare forum in July that we were invited to. Despite what I knew to be an obvious hijack of free market values, I took the hit for the ertswhile Congressman who apparently was in town that day. Here's the video archive I made of that event. At least some vestige of debate is preserved from this looney race.

It's only an hour long and will just stop despite there being about another hour of debate and audience questions. My camera dude had a last minute emergency that night and my buddy Bill, didn't know how to change a tape.

This was almost the end of petitioning for Ed and Morris and the next day we started. After that it was signature Hell. We never emerged from BOE or court to actually engage in campaigning.
