As I mentioned, I'm in Speigletown. My father misread the petition and where it says" I am a political voter of the political unit..." at the top of the page, he thought it meant the Libertarian Party, and not the 20th Congressional District.

He also asked a gentleman nearby that was on the common council in Troy, and he told my father that registered Dems and Reps could not sign the petition. I'm sure he's mistaken as you brought the fact that ANY registered voter can sign the petition. BUT I wanted to bring up this situation...

Anybody registered voter can sign an independent nominating petition, regardless of party affiliation.
