The other day I popped into our local deli in Niverville for a soda and one of my neighbors on the lake congratulated me for the effort we've put forth in this battle. He asked about the debates and said he was voting for me. It's heartening to know that people care and will get involved knowing they have a real choice. So rest assured, I'll keep fighting as long as there is a battle to be fought.
Many of you who follow this blog have seen the name John Norris pop up. He gives out pertinent information about the campaign and does a lot of stuff in the background that you don't see. John's dad Bill actually fought in the Korean War and founded the Korean Veterans Association back in the eighties. One of the objectors to our petition actually claimed to fight in Korea and was ousted as a fraud when he was out trumping up support for the Iraq invasion in 2003. This is the type of stuff we're up against.
As libertarians we'd like to think our contribution to debate is the idea of eliminating fraud and coercion in our normal human activity. It's the principle we rally around and defend more than any other. I like to think that we set out to make a credible case for getting on the ballot and we delivered seven thousand signatures to the Board of Elections to that affect.
Since 2006 when I ran last time, I've been working in the Libertarian Party to improve ballot access throughout the state and country. Indeed, our recent video underscores that rather nicely. I am passionate about many issues and look forward to displaying my knowledge and understanding of the economy, foreign affairs and other issues so important to the average voter.
In the next week we'll have to deal with the bureaucracy, lawyers and judges far more than my normal patience is tolerant of, that's all right though. Even though the one 'public' poll doesn't reflect it, I know that there are many people from all over the district and country rooting for us. It's just a short stretch now. If we can weather this latest storm, we'll be in the March 26th debate with the Democrat & Republican. I'm looking forward to a Ron Paul like revelation to some voters who will agree that the 'stimulus' is wrong and that freedom, above all else, is what this country is all about.
Thanks to everyone who has helped in every and any way. Without your help and encouragement we wouldn't have made it this far . . . keep in there. I promise I will.

Eric Sundwall
Thanks, Eric , for bringing this issue of ballot access into full public view. I 've learned a lot and will keep telling everyone I meet about this issue. Hopefully enough of us can come together and somehow make some much needed changes in election law in NYS.
I dedicate this song to everyone in the 'Sun'dwall Campaign for your ongoing successful work in casting 'light' on the 'very dark' election process in our country...

Hey Eric!
This is Joe Martin. I was so glad I could help this summer in WNY getting signatures for the party but was disappointed with Barr's final tally. Anyways I was just reading up on some local politics and saw you were running! I wish you all the best of luck. I'm currently in Budapest for the semester but would love to help out again this summer if i could.
Give them your best,
Joe
Please come to Cherry Valley in Otsego County. Neither of the other candidates have come, and I know that if you come and show yourself, you will earn more votes. We are a small village with some staunch Republicans, but I think they are ready for you. Thanks, JoAnn Guido
