This is the Real Campaign for Liberty

Ron Paul transferred five million dollars into a new group that was supposed to support candidates. As a donor, I thought that was a great idea. Now, I find out that they don't and can't support candidates. Great.

Here for example, is a young fellow rebuking longtime libertarian stalwart Eric Sundwall, for posting on their precious site. The nerve! to quote LJ Cobb from 12 Angry Men.

Ron Paul is a great man who I supported heart, soul and pocketbook. As for those who are now professional Paulians, I'm not impressed with their work.

One of the reasons I started Political Class Dismissed is to have at least one hard core, no nonsense libertarian website that did politics with no apologies and, with 35 years political experience, did it well.

For too many decades, the political operation of the libertarian movement has been strictly amateur hour.

If you are a real Paulian, get off your rear, put down the books, hold off on the think tank seminars for three weeks and help THE ONLY LIBERTARIAN RUNNING FOR OFFICE RIGHT NOW IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric Sundwall.

Seems like a good way to "campaign for liberty" would be to, ya know, campaign for a libertarian...

Also, even thought the entity 'Campaign For Liberty' may be a non profit and excluded from officially supporting a candidate, it doesn't mean that commentators on the site can't support a candidate, does it?

Once I can recall my password I'll say the same thing on the CFL site, as well as state my outright support for Sundwall. If I get booted for that, then it's not worth my time.

Not sure about the legalities but if they are a C4, it seems to be me they could do some educational ads in the 20th, say, on the Fed.

Besides, why are they set up that way?

From the C4L site concerning posting content :

The Campaign For Liberty strives to become a leading grassroots lobby at the national, state, and local level. The social networking tools that we provide are just that—tools. They are tools for activists to connect with other activists in their area, to spread information, to run successful events, to lobby politicians, to support candidates, and to influence voters.

Hope this helps - I think its fine for members to lobby our candidate Eric Sundwall and influence voters!

Tax reasons probably why they went with educational instead of PAC.

I have written a number of opinion pieces in the papers supporting Eric. I am one person trying to sway a thousand. You cannot imagine how disappointed I was to hear from my father in law that it sounded like you conceded already on the Al Roney Show. If anyone asks, "do you realy think you ave a chance?", you answer "people are ready for this". If you really told a listening audience that you won't win...... next time I'll run myself. If you need logistical, advisory, speech writing, I would love to help. Remember, fear and excitement feel the same in our bodies.

Eric, I don't believe we've met, but your name sounds familiar, so maybe we did. I used to cover your local bailiwick for the Register-Star. I still write, and would like to interview you, since it appears the media is playing politics as usual and treating this as a two-way race.

I agree - you MUST exude confidence as if you have already won - have we learned nothing from the pres. elect ? Words ,well chosen, spoken deliberately, in the right pitch ,tone and combinations- with pauses strategically placed to allow time to sink in to the audience - very effective. NEVER allow hesitations or voice fluctuations that could be interpreted as a sign of weakness, doubt, or fear- the wolves feed on that. You may need a professional voice/ public speaking coach . We can donate money and do groundwork - but if you don't come across strong in public it won't matter how many dollars we spend. It may be as simple as lowering your voice a little below your normal speaking range, and slowing speech a little while increasing volume and working for a stronger tone. You should have an effect on anyone who interviews you to feel like they can't wait to talk to you again, and they are so privileged to have met you.

Conceded ? No way . . . we're plugging along this weekend on petitions and hope to come out swinging this whole next week. Rest assured I get tired and run down like everyone else, we're working hard on this one though.

I'm well versed in media appearances now and can assure everyone my skills are honed. But . . . you do have to be realistic in all matters. Until we get through this petition issue, nothing is guaranteed, that's my only hesitation, not issues or ideas. Those are strong and passionate. Check out the last Channel 9 interview with Curtis Schick . . .

Eric is a great candidate for these times and for this race and this district. His style is the soft-sell and it can be a very effective technique. The real campaign begins on Monday. You ain't seen nothing yet!

Andrea Elliott on March 7, 2009 10:40 PM

Eric is THE Candidate we need for these times. Soft sell may be an effective technique , but delivery is critical. I sincerely hope there is a "plan B" in case this particular technique does not produce the results desired. Since time is so short , and there are so many voters to reach, I totally understand the demands placed on everyone. I canvassed my precinct for Ron Paul, and had a hard time because he had so little exposure and not many had even heard of him. Will you have an ad ready that we can put in our local papers? I would like to start inserting ads this week , and will continue nagging the media that there are 3 candidates. Please post the links to all interviews and scheduled appearances. Also can someone come up with a banner/ widget to put on websites? I run ads for my business , have a website , and would be glad to run a banner / link to this site if that's ok. BTW this "Paulian" does not sit on her rear , hates books and seminars, and I am brutally honest as well. I also put alot into the Presidential run .....Good luck- we are all behind you ! Can't wait to see the real campaign begin!

Please put together a one page flyer that copies fine in black and white that one can get a thousand copies made cheaply (3 cents a piece) to distribute. Please do not emphasize the "Libertarian" as much as the four issues the 3rd parties agreed on during the Ron Paul campaign. I would like to do some local walking for you.....hanging over mail box red flags or folded on door steps. Thanks.
