Sundwall for Congress passes more milestones in the Campaign.

For Immediate Release: April 12, 2006.

The Sundwall for Congress campaign announced the candidate’s endorsement by the Hudson Valley and Capitol District chapters of the New York Libertarian Party. According to the party’s bylaws, these two ‘active’ chapters are necessary for the 20th district. He received the Hudson Valley endorsement on April 4th and the Capitol District’s on the 11th. He now needs 3500 signatures over the course of the petitioning period in July and August in order to be on the ballot in November.

The first FEC filing of the candidate reveals a quick fund raising ability, generating almost seven thousand dollars in less than a month’s time.

The campaign has also announced plans for a televised debate. To date, two candidates, Morris Guller and Ed Pell have agreed in principle to such a debate. Formal invitations will be sent out today. Attached is a copy minus the cost of the event.

Sundwall said, ‘The biggest thrill for me this week was getting the campaign camera signed by film director Werner Herzog at Mass Moca. The endorsements, the first FEC filing and the debate invitation are all great news for the campaign. We are certainly promoting democracy at a different level.’

The campaign is listing its summer schedule on the website.
Mr. Sundwall expects that the only formal announcement of the campaign will come at the Eminent Domain Rally in Albany on April 28th.

He goes on, ‘I’m not going to waste my time or the media’s on a coming out party. Many already know about this insurgent campaign and I intend to spend my time appealing to the people of the district. We hope to build at least six new county chapters in this effort.’

Dear Congressman and Congressional Candidate,
I am inviting all interested campaigns to a debate in the near future.
As of April 11, 2006, I am the endorsed candidate of the New York Libertarian Party for New York’s 20th Congressional District, according to their party by-laws.
Rob Johanson, COO of Mid-Hudson Media, can offer a studio with a taping facility and a broadcast feed on their system. Each campaign would get a copy of the media. An option for a live studio audience is available at a slightly higher cost. The total package would be $.
The League of Women Voters has been asked to moderate the debate.
To date, two candidates besides me have agreed in principle to such debates, Democrats Morris Guller and Ed Pell. No times, dates or specific issues have been discussed. Debates would most likely occur before the petitioning period.
Campaigns would be asked to share costs. Mr. Guller has volunteered to make contributions to any campaign needing the requisite funds for the transaction.
Please let us know if you have an interest or specific needs.
Sincerely,
Eric Sundwall
